The Faith Project:

The Faith Project is a collaborative performance piece exploring and exposing the similarities and intersections of the many faiths of the world. Using spoken word poetry, the human voice as an instrument, and text from sacred writings and liturgical sources, this performance piece honors the remarkable journey the human race has taken in seeking the divine.

The Faith Project culminates in a three-part series of performances in New York City venues that began this summer with the workshop of Part One: intersection of belief.  The exploration continues this coming winter using interview text collected from members of different religious communities, systems of belief and cultural backgrounds. "Inside the great mystery that is, we don't really own anything. What is this competition we feel then, before we go, one at a time, through the same gate?"

- Rumi (13th century Sufi poet)
